Congressman Peter Roskam recently voted against changes to the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA), because protecting the disabled is more important to him than scoring political points. America’s disabled population, including those living in Illinois’ Sixth District, would lose important protections under the new law, giving them the responsibility of determining ADA compliance.

Congressman Peter Roskam said, “For more than 25 years, the ADA has been instrumental in ensuring thedisabled can live, work and thrive in their communities with reasonable accommodations. It is my duty as a legislator to defend those gains, and to protect the rights of the most vulnerable in our society.”
