How to set up a Parallels Desktop network

Step 1: Launch the Parallels Desktop application

Click the Parallels icon on the Mac menu bar and select "Control Center.

The Parallels Desktop Control Center appears.

Step 2: Click on the [gear] icon

Installed virtual machines are shown here.

Once activated, the Control Center appears.Click the [gear] icon of the virtual machine for which you want to configure network settings.

Step 3: Click on "Hardware.

Click on "Hardware" at the top of the settings window.

Use this menu to select one of the following types of networks for the virtual machine's network adapter

shared network: Select this option if you want to enable the NAT (Network Address Translation) feature on the virtual machine. In this case, the virtual machine will share the network regardless of the type of network connection currently in use on the Mac.

bridge networkSelect this option if you want the virtual machine to be able to access the local network or the Internet through one of the network adapters installed on your Mac.

In this case, the virtual machine is treated as a stand-alone computer on the network and configured just like a real computer. The physical adapter to which the virtual machine adapter will be bridged can be selected from the list displayed under the "Bridge Network" option.

host-only network: Select this option if you want the virtual machine to be able to connect to your Mac or a virtual machine on your Mac, but at the same time be hidden outside of your Mac. If you select this option, the virtual machine will not be able to connect to the Internet.

Network coordination ((Option only available in Parallels Desktop for Mac Pro Edition and Business Edition)

Software developers can test their applications by running simulations at different Internet connection speeds. To do this, select "Network Tuning" and choose a preconfigured profile that matches the network conditions you wish to test.

Or click Configure to specify internal and external settings as needed.

MAC

[MAC] field allows you to change the MAC address currently assigned to the virtual machine; the MAC address is automatically generated during virtual machine creation, but the default MAC address is[MAC] field, or enter a different value in the[generated] You can change it by clicking on the button.

If you enter a new MAC address, make sure it is unique within your network. This option is for advanced users.

type

This menu allows you to change the type of network interface card.1 It is not recommended to change the default settings unless instructed to do so by the TP2T support team. This option is intended for advanced users.

Click "Restore Defaults" to restore the settings.
