How to transfer a Parallels Desktop license key to a new Mac

If you wish to use your Parallels Desktop for Mac license on a new Mac, you must sign out of your license account on the Mac you will no longer be using.

Sign out of your licensed account

Step 1: Launch the Parallels Desktop application

Click the Parallels icon on the Mac menu bar and select "Control Center.

The Parallels Desktop Control Center appears.

Select [Accounts & Licenses

Select "Accounts & Licenses" under "Paralles Desktop" in the top menu.

Click [Sign Out

[Select "Accounts & Licenses" and the activation screen will appear. Select the account on the right side and click "Sign Out.

Sign in to your new Mac with your registered email address and password

Install Parallel Desktop on your new Mac and sign in using the email address and password you have already registered.

Select [Enter key] at the bottom

Select "Enter key" at the bottom.

Enter the license code you have and pressClick [Activate

Enter the license code you have and press[Click Activate.

If you try to use the license on the new Mac without signing out of the old Mac, upon activation on the new Mac, you will receive a warning indicating that the license is already in use.

Migrate data

Next, the data on the old Mac is migrated in its entirety. Parallel Desktop data is usually stored in [Documents] → [Parallels].

For Windows 8, it should be [Windows 8.pvm], for Windows 10, [Windows 10.pvm], and also the name [shared folder] together.

Copy and paste this [Paralles] folder directly into the [Documents] folder of the new Mac.

Copy this [Paralles] folder as is and paste it into the [Documents] folder on the new Mac.

This completes the migration.
